James Caan CBE

Having founded Recruitment Entrepreneur in 2014, former Dragons' Den star and serial entrepreneur James Caan CBE plays a pivotal role in shaping each business within our portfolio. 

James has been in recruitment for over 30 years and invests in recruitment companies of all sizes across various geographies and sectors.

Alexander Mann, his first recruitment business, sold in 2013 for £260 million. His second recruitment venture, Humana International, grew to 140 offices across 30 countries.

With 3 million followers, James was named LinkedIn’s second most influential voice of 2017. His global network, both online and offline, has assisted our current CEOs in attracting the best talent, clients and candidates to their businesses.

As Chairman, James takes an active role in the investment process, working closely with the Recruitment Entrepreneur team to support you and your company. His hands-on approach enables entrepreneurs to learn from his considerable experience in founding and scaling recruitment businesses.

Marco Van Rooij

Country Director

Marco van Rooij is a sales and recruitment specialist with a background in financial management. He has worked for companies such as ASML, Bosch, and DHL, and has developed strong communication and persuasion skills over the years.

 

Currently, Marco is a Management Coach at MAAN Management, Coaching & Advice, and a Trainer at Nutshell Academy. He is also a member of the Werkveld Advies Raad at Avans University of Applied Sciences.

 

Prior to this, Marco worked for RSG, Career Control, YER, and Robert Half, where he gained extensive experience in managing teams and building strong networks of clients and professionals.

 

Marco is a results-driven professional with a strong entrepreneurial drive and ambition.

Tony Davies

Tony brings 30 years of international experience in Europe, USA, and Asia, setting up successful cross-border partnerships and recruitment operations.

Tony began his career as an electrical engineer, transitioning to recruitment in 2001 when he founded and scaled his own business. He later joined Cordant Recruitment Group in London and built a global recruitment function for an Italian engineering company operating in China, USA, and Europe. He then worked with Belcan, a large US-based engineering services and recruitment business, leading their International recruitment team to a successful turnaround.

Tony's strengths lie in executing financial and sales strategies, negotiating commercial agreements, advising business founders and partners on leadership, and participating in multiple sales and acquisition deals throughout his career.

Jamie brings a solid knowledge and understanding of the inner workings of organisations and how best to optimise their performance. Jamie has a strong track record of working internationally and has been posted overseas on a number of projects, thus gaining experience of the cultural differences which exist on cross border transactions.

While working for EY, he worked on projects in various locations throughout  the US, including New York, Connecticut and Florida where he was part of a team helping to plan, develop, cost and build up the back-office function for two US listed Fortune 250 companies.

Milad Zandi is the Founder and Managing Partner of Timetohire| The Recruitment Success Company based in The Hague, Netherlands. With a childhood dream of entrepreneurship, he honed his sales talent at an early age, leading him to study Law at Leiden University.

After gaining recruitment experience, Milad founded his own company in 2016. Today, he challenges businesses to transform their recruitment strategies as part of "The Recruitment Success Company" team. 

Additionally, he co-founded RecruitersForGood and serves as a Partner at RE The Netherlands. With over 8 years of recruitment expertise, Milad is known for his collaborative approach and passion for entrepreneurship.

Edwin de Jonge is the Founder and Managing Partner of Timetohire, the largest independent Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) provider in the Netherlands. With over 25 years of experience in the recruitment industry, Edwin is passionate about innovation, strategy, and tech opportunities that make work life easier. He believes trust is the foundation of successful working relationships and is a follower of Ricardo Semler's theory of Semco Style.

Edwin is also a Co-founder of RecruitersForGood, an Ambassador at Guruz, a member of the Supervisory Board at Van Spaendonck, an Archangel at Arches Capital, and a shareholder and advisor at Salesguide. He is also an Entrepreneurial Investor and Advisor at Trusted Ventures and a Start-up Investor and Managing Partner at Hermes Investments.
